Bobbin Lace Workshop with Elena Kanagy-Loux

Hosted at House of Wax Bar

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at the centuries-old technique of bobbin lace? Now is your chance to learn this traditional skill in the beautifully morbid environment of the House of Wax Bar. In this workshop, students will learn the basic fundamentals of Torchon lace, including winding bobbins, preparing a pricking, and following a basic pattern. All materials will be provided, and students will leave with a sampler of the three basic bobbin lace stitches. Please note: Seats are limited to ten students!
The workshop will be followed by a lecture at 3:30pm by lacemaker and scholar Elena Kanagy-Loux on the subject of "Lace and Death," which is free to the public.
